Workshop on ‘Fashioning Astronauts’
The sun, the Moon and the stars would have disappeared long ago . . . had they happened to be within the reach of predatory human hands.
Students at MRIS 46, had a great opportunity to meet and interact with NASA Space suit designer, Ms Heather Paul, and other space scientists from NASA, on Saturday, 7th February, 2015. Ms Paul works at the Johnson Space Centre , NASA on life support designs for space suits and was in India with a mission to share some of her most valuable experiences on space science and space programmes with students in various schools. In her session at MRIS 46, Ms. Paul interacted with budding scientists of our school and talked about space suit designing concepts and its history. Ms. Paul also gave insight about space physiology i.e. functioning of the human body in outer space. An added attraction was a brief session by another scientist, Ryan Elliot, on ‘Rocketry’. Students had fun and kept the two scientists engaged with lots of queries on space.
